YOUR ROLE

The Data Analyst is a key early member of Stio’s Data & Analytics team, working alongside the Director of Data & Analytics to expand how the business uses data to make decisions. This is a full-stack, horizontal role: the work spans data infrastructure (ingestion, modeling, transformation) through analysis, BI development, and direct stakeholder partnership across Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. You’ll work where the highest-leverage problems are and grow the breadth and depth of the analytics function in the process.

You’ll work in a stack built around Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, and increasingly Python in addition to SQL and R. AI-assisted development is the default form factor for the team. Most of the code we ship is written collaboratively with AI agents in tools like Claude Code, then reviewed, tested, and iterated. The expectation is not that you arrive an expert in AI tooling. The expectation is that you bring strong fundamentals — the kind of data and modeling intuition that lets you catch silently wrong AI output that runs cleanly and passes tests — and that you’re genuinely curious about how this part of the craft is evolving. As an early team member, you’ll help shape how we work in this environment, not just execute someone else’s playbook.

We’re looking for an analyst who connects what they see in the data to the bigger picture and who has a strong bias for tying analysis to action. The right person doesn’t hesitate to sweep the floor (fix a broken Excel link), isn’t afraid to question the status quo (does this metric actually measure what it claims to?), and would rather quickly solve a pressing business problem with simple analysis than build a sophisticated model that collects dust. A foundation of technical skills is essential. Even more important is an eagerness to learn new things, sound judgment under ambiguity, and a desire to drive positive progress at Stio.

This is a remote role that is part of the Finance department and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner directly with stakeholders across the business (Product Development, Marketing, DTC, B2B, Finance, Operations, Inventory Planning) to translate ambiguous questions into well-defined analyses, dashboards, and data products. You’ll own these end-to-end: scoping, building, validating, and communicating findings.
  • Build and maintain dbt models that turn raw source-system data into trustworthy, well-documented datasets. Write the tests and documentation that let both humans and AI agents downstream rely on the work.
  • Develop and maintain the semantic context, dashboards, and reports that the rest of the business uses to operate day-to-day.
  • Own metric definitions and business semantics. Drive alignment when stakeholders disagree on what a definition or number means.
  • Review and harden AI-generated SQL, dbt models, and Python code with the judgment to catch issues that pass tests but are semantically wrong. The majority of your output will be code you’ve collaborated on with AI agents, and you’ll bring the data intuition that makes that work trustworthy.
  • Investigate ambiguous data questions where the answer isn’t in the schema: talk to source-system owners, investigate edge cases, reconcile conflicting definitions, and improve our model of the business.
  • Help build and maintain Stio’s data infrastructure — currently Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, R, and Python — and contribute to decisions about where the stack should evolve.
  • Improve data governance for both the Data & Analytics team and the business at large by creating documentation that’s actually useful and that AI agents can consume as context for future work.
  • Continuously develop your skills as the practice of data analytics evolves. This is a real part of the job, not something done on the side.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar role
  • Advanced SQL: CTEs, window functions, comfortable wrangling messy real-world data, can read and reason about query plans well enough to know when something is off
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including writing models, tests, and documentation. You don’t need to have built a dbt project from scratch, but you should be comfortable contributing to one and know what good looks like
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, or similar)
  • Version control with Git/GitHub as part of your normal workflow
  • Experience as a developer with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Omni, or similar)
  • A real point of view on AI-assisted development for analytics work — what it’s actually good at, where it falls down, what you do to make the output trustworthy
  • History of building collaborative, trusting relationships with non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfort presenting findings to leadership verbally, in writing, and visually

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Though not required, we would consider the following as an added plus:

  • Working knowledge of Python and/or R for analysis
  • Experience with the components of our data stack (Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, Python, R, Claude Code, Codex)
  • Experience with some of the systems we use: NetSuite, Shopify, Google Analytics, Segment, Klaviyo
  • Professional experience at a DTC or omni-channel retail, apparel, footwear, or outdoor company

About the Position

As a Senior Data Scientist at Murmuration, you’ll practice “full-stack” data science, shepherding problems from ideation to implementation. The Data Science team works on diverse datasets with hundreds of millions of records to analyze data, build pipelines, and derive insights to power Murmuration’s data and tools. A core part of this work is our predictive stack: we use the voter file and other supplemental datasets to build scores that predict individual behaviors and beliefs, such as likelihood to turn out to vote, support an issue, or volunteer on a campaign. These scores help campaigns and organizers allocate their resources more effectively, reaching the right people at the right time. In this role, you will help drive this work forward, developing innovative methodologies with a focus on campaign data models and entity resolution. As a senior member of the team, you’ll mentor developing data scientists and junior analysts and collaborate closely with the engineering, product, and research teams.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and execute data science projects, including predictive modeling, algorithm design, and data pipelines;

As we expand across Medicare Advantage and other value-based care programs, we need analytical talent that can translate complex clinical and financial data into narratives that drive action, for both our internal teams and our payer and provider customers.

You will be part of the analytical engine behind Counterpart Health’s value-based care performance insights. This role sits at the intersection of risk adjustment, quality measurement, utilization management, and cost analytics, and you will be expected to own the metrics that matter most to our payer and provider partners. Beyond the numbers, you are a storyteller: you turn dense claims and clinical data into clear, compelling narratives that help customers understand performance, identify opportunities, and take action. You will work closely with Customer Success, Clinical, and Product teams to ensure our analytics are accurate, trusted, and decision-ready.

As a Data Analyst, you will:

  • Build and maintain core Value-Based Care (VBC) performance metrics across risk, quality, utilization, and cost domains, including HCC capture rates, RAF scores, PMPM trends, and inpatient/ED utilization rates.
  • Develop customer-facing analytics, reports, and dashboards that surface actionable performance insights for payer and provider partners in a clear, narrative-driven format.
  • Analyze Medicare Advantage performance data, including risk adjustment, quality bonus payments, and benchmark performance, to identify gaps, trends, and opportunities at the patient, provider, and market level.
  • Translate complex data findings into executive-ready narratives: written summaries, slide-ready visuals, and structured QBR materials that tell a coherent story about performance and next steps.
  • Conduct deep-dive utilization and cost analyses, including high-cost claimant reviews, avoidable utilization patterns, and specialty/pharmacy spend trends, to identify levers for improvement.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Provider Operations teams to prepare and deliver performance reviews (QBRs, monthly reporting packages) that communicate value and surface priority action areas for each customer.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to validate claims and clinical data pipelines, flag anomalies, and ensure metric consistency across customer populations.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable analytics infrastructure: reusable SQL libraries, metric definitions, and documentation that enable the team to move faster.

You should get in touch if you have:

  • 4+ years of hands-on healthcare data analytics experience, with direct exposure to payer or provider customers in a value-based care context.
  • Deep familiarity with VBC metrics: risk adjustment (HCC coding, RAF scores), utilization (IP admissions, ED visits, readmissions), and cost (PMPM, total cost of care, benchmark vs. actual).

YOUR ROLE

The Data Analyst is a key early member of Stio’s Data & Analytics team, working alongside the Director of Data & Analytics to expand how the business uses data to make decisions. This is a full-stack, horizontal role: the work spans data infrastructure (ingestion, modeling, transformation) through analysis, BI development, and direct stakeholder partnership across Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. You’ll work where the highest-leverage problems are and grow the breadth and depth of the analytics function in the process.

You’ll work in a stack built around Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, and increasingly Python in addition to SQL and R. AI-assisted development is the default form factor for the team. Most of the code we ship is written collaboratively with AI agents in tools like Claude Code, then reviewed, tested, and iterated. The expectation is not that you arrive an expert in AI tooling. The expectation is that you bring strong fundamentals — the kind of data and modeling intuition that lets you catch silently wrong AI output that runs cleanly and passes tests — and that you’re genuinely curious about how this part of the craft is evolving. As an early team member, you’ll help shape how we work in this environment, not just execute someone else’s playbook.

We’re looking for an analyst who connects what they see in the data to the bigger picture and who has a strong bias for tying analysis to action. The right person doesn’t hesitate to sweep the floor (fix a broken Excel link), isn’t afraid to question the status quo (does this metric actually measure what it claims to?), and would rather quickly solve a pressing business problem with simple analysis than build a sophisticated model that collects dust. A foundation of technical skills is essential. Even more important is an eagerness to learn new things, sound judgment under ambiguity, and a desire to drive positive progress at Stio.

This is a remote role that is part of the Finance department and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner directly with stakeholders across the business (Product Development, Marketing, DTC, B2B, Finance, Operations, Inventory Planning) to translate ambiguous questions into well-defined analyses, dashboards, and data products. You’ll own these end-to-end: scoping, building, validating, and communicating findings.
  • Build and maintain dbt models that turn raw source-system data into trustworthy, well-documented datasets. Write the tests and documentation that let both humans and AI agents downstream rely on the work.
  • Develop and maintain the semantic context, dashboards, and reports that the rest of the business uses to operate day-to-day.
  • Own metric definitions and business semantics. Drive alignment when stakeholders disagree on what a definition or number means.
  • Review and harden AI-generated SQL, dbt models, and Python code with the judgment to catch issues that pass tests but are semantically wrong. The majority of your output will be code you’ve collaborated on with AI agents, and you’ll bring the data intuition that makes that work trustworthy.
  • Investigate ambiguous data questions where the answer isn’t in the schema: talk to source-system owners, investigate edge cases, reconcile conflicting definitions, and improve our model of the business.
  • Help build and maintain Stio’s data infrastructure — currently Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, GitHub, Power BI, R, and Python — and contribute to decisions about where the stack should evolve.
  • Improve data governance for both the Data & Analytics team and the business at large by creating documentation that’s actually useful and that AI agents can consume as context for future work.
  • Continuously develop your skills as the practice of data analytics evolves. This is a real part of the job, not something done on the side.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar role
  • Advanced SQL: CTEs, window functions, comfortable wrangling messy real-world data, can read and reason about query plans well enough to know when something is off
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including writing models, tests, and documentation. You don’t need to have built a dbt project from scratch, but you should be comfortable contributing to one and know what good looks like
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, Redshift, Microsoft Fabric, or similar)
  • Version control with Git/GitHub as part of your normal workflow
  • Experience as a developer with at least one BI tool (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Omni, or similar)
  • A real point of view on AI-assisted development for analytics work — what it’s actually good at, where it falls down, what you do to make the output trustworthy
  • History of building collaborative, trusting relationships with non-technical stakeholders
  • Comfort presenting findings to leadership verbally, in writing, and visually

About the Position

As a Senior Data Scientist at Murmuration, you’ll practice “full-stack” data science, shepherding problems from ideation to implementation. The Data Science team works on diverse datasets with hundreds of millions of records to analyze data, build pipelines, and derive insights to power Murmuration’s data and tools. We are seeking a Director, Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) to report to the Vice President of Revenue Operations. This is a builder’s role for a leader who thinks in systems, treats analytics like a product, and is excited to operate at the frontier of AI-augmented decision-making. A leader who can define what we measure, why it matters, and how every number ties back to a clean, trusted source. Before anything else, this person establishes the foundation the rest of the business runs on: a rigorous set of KPIs, unambiguous metric definitions, sound data models, and a single version of the truth that executives and sellers alike can rely on. Get that right, and everything else compounds. Get it wrong, and no tool or technique can save it.

You will own the operational backbone of Revenue Operations analytics — the metrics, the definitions, the governance, and the reporting that leadership uses to run the business. You will gather requirements across teams, reconcile conflicting numbers, close data gaps, and turn fuzzy questions into precise, durable measures. This is the work that makes everything else possible.

With that foundation in place, you will modernize how we deliver it. We are migrating from a legacy Redshift/Alteryx/Tableau stack to a modern, code-driven ecosystem built on Redshift, dbt, Dagster, and Airbyte, paired with a next-generation, version-controlled BI layer. The goal is to treat analytics like a well-engineered software product — tested, documented, version-controlled, and built to scale as fast as the business does.

This modernization unlocks the next chapter: an AI-augmented function where a strong operational core is amplified by emerging tooling. We believe the analytics team of the next few years will increasingly work from an AI coding cockpit — agentic developer tools like Claude Code and Codex alongside GitHub — to build, review, and ship pipelines, models, and dashboards. On top of well-defined metrics, that opens the door to conversational analytics, AI-generated narratives, and agents that surface and act on insight. The key word is on top of — AI multiplies a solid foundation; it does not substitute for one. The ideal candidate has already moved past the chat window and uses agentic coding assistants to do real engineering work, but reaches for them in service of operational rigor, not in place of it.

As the subject matter expert for Business Intelligence and Analytics, you will partner closely with field and operational teams, instituting leading practices that pair analytics-engineering discipline (Git, CI/CD, testing, semantic layers) with self-service access. You will lead a team of Business Intelligence & Analytics Analysts, Analytics/Data Engineers, and Data Quality Specialists.

Above all, this is a full-stack, player-coach role — not a hands-off manager. You’ll lead a team, but you’ll also be in the work: your morning might be deep in data engineering, pairing with Claude Code to refactor a dbt model or debug a Dagster pipeline, and your afternoon might be building and delivering a polished, board-ready presentation that translates that same data into a clear story for the C-suite. We’re looking for someone who is equally credible in a terminal and in the boardroom, and who is genuinely energized by the full range — from the plumbing to the podium.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence & Metric Definition (the foundation)

  • Own and maintain a comprehensive, well-governed set of business KPIs and the precise metric definitions behind them — the trusted source the rest of the business runs on. This spans the core recurring-revenue metrics this function lives and dies by — ARR, ACV, GRR, NRR, churn and contraction, bookings, pipeline and pipeline coverage, win rate, sales-cycle length, quota attainment, and forecast accuracy — along with the upstream operational measures that feed them.
  • Nail the definitions where the traps live: how contraction is treated across GRR vs. NRR, churn vs. downgrade, ACV vs. TCV, new vs. expansion vs. renewal, and how each metric is segmented and rolled up. Make the calculation logic explicit, documented, and consistent everywhere it appears.
  • Establish a “single version of the truth”: reconcile conflicting numbers, eliminate ambiguity in how metrics are calculated, and ensure every figure traces back to a clean, documented source.
  • Gather requirements across teams, identify and close data gaps, and turn fuzzy business questions into durable, precise measures.
  • Design and document the analytics/data model for key personas across Turnitin — sellers, sales management, executives, and operations staff.
  • Audit and ensure the cleanliness, completeness, and reliability of data through automated testing and validation.
  • Partner with the Business Planning & Operations group to co-develop and continuously improve reporting and analysis, including preparation for Quarterly Business Reviews.

YOUR ROLE

The Data Analyst is a key early member of Stio's Data & Analytics team, working alongside the Director of Data & Analytics to expand how the business uses data to make decisions. This is a full-stack, horizontal role: the work spans data infrastructure (ingestion, modeling, transformation) through analysis, BI development, and direct stakeholder partnership across Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B. You'll work where the highest-leverage problems are and grow the breadth and depth of the analytics function in the process.

You'll work in a stack built around Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, GitHub, and increasingly Python in addition to SQL and R. AI-assisted development is the default form factor for the team. Most of the code we ship is written collaboratively with AI agents in tools like Claude Code, then reviewed, tested, and iterated. The expectation is not that you arrive an expert in AI tooling. The expectation is that you bring strong fundamentals — the kind of data and modeling intuition that lets you catch silently wrong AI output that runs cleanly and passes tests — and that you're genuinely curious about how this part of the craft is evolving. As an early team member, you'll help shape how we work in this environment, not just execute someone else's playbook.

We're looking for an analyst who connects what they see in the data to the bigger picture and who has a strong bias for tying analysis to action. The right person doesn't hesitate to sweep the floor (fix a broken Excel link), isn't afraid to question the status quo (does this metric actually measure what it claims to?), and would rather quickly solve a pressing business problem with simple analysis than build a sophisticated model that collects dust. A foundation of technical skills is essential. Even more important is an eagerness to learn new things, sound judgment under ambiguity, and a desire to drive positive progress at Stio.

This is a remote role that is part of the Finance department and reports to the Director of Data & Analytics.

Your Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with stakeholders across the business (Product Development, Marketing, DTC, B2B, Finance, Operations, Inventory Planning) to translate ambiguous questions into well-defined analyses, dashboards, and data products. You'll own these end-to-end: scoping, building, validating, and communicating findings
  • Build and maintain dbt models that turn raw source-system data into trustworthy, well-documented datasets. Write the tests and documentation that let both humans and AI agents downstream rely on the work
